Diversity of Poisonous Plants and their Antidotes, Affecting Ruminant Livestock Production on Rangelands in Ghana

The survival of the extensive livestock system, practice for most farmers in industry Ghana depends heavily on natural pastures as forage resource. To efficiently use rangelands, knowledge species composition, especially that poisonous plants is essential. Documented scanty; documentation and dissemination resource would enable a wider access benefit to stakeholders. A study was conducted with aim discover existence diversity associated antidotes affecting preservation knowledge. 70 different items were cited; 22 which not cited, 28 known 32 antidotes. There 575 citations from 194 reported cases suspected plant poisoning, categorized no cited (146), (147) (282). 50 identified belonged 29 families.
